Canon Chip Removal Instructions

The instructions below are directly from the manufacturer of the cartridges. You may wish to see our own notes concerning the products at the bottom of the page. Instructions like the ones enlarged below come in every ink cartridge box.



Please Note: If you have a MP Series Printer you will use the "Stop/Reset" button instead of the Paper Feed button as shown in "fig d" above.
Using the non-chipped cartridges will require you to turn off the ink levels as shown in "picture 6" above.
Checking the ink levels manually is not difficult. Visually check the cartridges occasionally or do what we do and simply wait for slight image distortion, streaking, etc.
 
We have tested and use the non-chipped cartridges in 2 different printers in our daily operation.
The removal of the chip and reinstalling on the new compatible cartridge will take a few minutes.
